The logo is composed of a main logo and four extended logos to form a motion logo . Structurally, the logo is composed of linear graphics of the first letters "W", "H", "C"and "D" of Wuhan City of Design, representing four scene logos of Wuhan city (East Lake＆Luojia Mountain, Yangtze River Bridge＆Island, Guishan TV tower＆Bird Migration, Yellow Crane Tower). The four logos are dynamically connected as a whole through the clockwise rotation of the letters C (City) and D (Design), representing the progress and continuous development of Wuhan city and design under the promotion of design.
The color extraction of the logo represents the green, red, blue, and yellow colors of ecological cities, happy cities, smart cities, and cultural cities. The overall visual imitation of the motion logo is based on the visual experience of scattering fireworks, symbolizing the promising future of Wuhan as a city with diverse designs.
